Collected Links.

1.http://nursingworld.org/
This is a website called the American Nurses Assocation. This website is the largest nursing organization in the United States. It has a lot of resourceful information on the careers and credentials of nursing, the nursing practice itself, ethics, health care policies, government affairs, and the environment. There is a section of facts, questions, and answers. There is a section just for its viewers on nursing and why it should be considered. This is a helpful webpage because it includes just about everything A-Z about the nursing practice.

2.http://lilk8tob.spaces.live.com/
This is a blog by Katie. She's currently a Pediactric Nurse. She gives a lot of information in her about me section. One important piece of information in her about me section is where she says that she went from 0 experience to being an RN in 12 months with a bachelors degree. In her blog, she gives some good advice to current nursing students. A few bits of her advice are to be prepared to work hard and to ask a lot of questions. This seems like a very credible and resourceful blog to get information from about this profession. She provides a lot of useful information to others.

3.http://www.careercruising.com.proxy.yc.edu/Careers/Interview.aspx?LoginID=fa865eaf-c862-415d-8ce7-4a7fa3d563a5-&person=Lisa&Occname=Nurse&OccNumber=302
This is from the YC library website under Career Cruising. It's an interview with a current RN Lisa. There are a lot of good questions and answers about this field. She also tells about her likes and her dislikes of the job. She even has a section called a day in the life where she gives a timeline of her day and what she does. I think this is really helpful because it shows from a current RN's perspective of how the job really is and what the good and bad points of it are.

4.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registered_nurse
This is a website which tells about RN's and what their job expectations are to be. I have considered becoming an RN and I think this website will be helpful in providing me some resourceful information on it. This website gives information on other types of nursing positions such as a second level or a specialist nurse. It gives information on education and training and the types of degrees which are available. It also includes the controversy going on with the nursing shortages.
